Over the last few nights I have had some great talks my friend. We have talked about John The Baptist, Jesus’ Birth, should we hate Satan or just hate his ways, and last night once saved always saved. It was a good long talk in which we both had a lot to say about the subject.
Romans 10 :9-10 says……”If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” NLT
Huh.!? So what about those who will come to Jesus in the end to hear ” depart from me I never knew you!” Didn’t I cast out demons and do many great things in your name?
I never knew you? Did this man know Jesus? No he didn’t! Even though he cast out demons and did some really cool stuff in Jesus name he must not have understood Jesus and how to get into His arms.Faith is what gets you there.

James said that faith with out works is dead faith and works with out faith is worthless work. Yes he did say that. So I have come to this answer that most won’t like…….
Why take a chance? I am very much unable to say at this point if we are saved always no matter what we do. I don’t know. I am looking and waiting for the answer to come to me about this topic. Until the day when I get to heaven why would you need to take a chance about this. Just follow Jesus and never let up. Keep learning and obeying Him the very best you can.

I would first like to say thanks for visiting my blog and commenting.
As noted in my discussion, OSAS, in my opinion is a , somewhat a, corruption of what the Scriptures actually say about salvation. As you mention the verse in James, but also some take James to prove "works keep us saved", which I also disagree with and believe is not Scriptural.
The largest problem seems to be of people which claim to be saved, but show no fruit of a changed life. Not perfection, but a desire and willingness to be more Christ-like.
Ephesians 2:8-10 says:
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
To me, this clearly shows that when a person is truly saved, God is working in them toward (unto) good works, meaning a professor that shows no sign of being more Christ-like seems to be lacking the working of God that Scritpure declares moves and accompanies salvation. Notice God is working in and through man, not man working in and of himself.
As for Romans 10:9-10, we must remember that is speaking to the Jews that had rejected Christ. If we make "confess with your mouth" a literal command, what about the mute and/or deaf?
You mention Matthew 7, maybe we should remember, it is not Christ, but the people which claim they have done such and such. Remember Satan has power and can appear as an angel of light. Sometimes people spend too much time looking for the experience (sign) and miss the faith require for salvation.
I am by no means an authoritative writer on the subject, but thought I might give a few thoughts to maybe help you look further at the issue of salvation. Remember, Romans 8 gives a clear testimony as to the security of the believer, so a loss of salvation is not really the question, but whether one has actually put faith in Christ or not.
Keep praying, meditating on the Word of God, and reading the wisdom gleaned from writers which have studied the Scriptures for many years - but always test what they say against the Book.
Can you imagine the knowledge and wisdom we will enjoy in heaven? To all, we are told, examine ourselves to ensure we have put our faith in Christ.
Never lose hope in Christ, even when we don't completely understand it all. God Bless.

My first visit to your blog, and it won't be my last. To me, the idea of a salvation in which we can't be sure, we can't "take chances" is sad. These things are written that we might know we have eternal life. I know, not because of my faithfulness (which those who deny eternal security lean on), but because of his. But I'm not into arguing the subject... it just makes people mad.
